By accessing or using VinSift ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Who operates the service

3. The service
VinSift lets you search a vehicle identification number (VIN) and purchase a report compiling records on that vehicle from our data providers, covering: vehicle specification, mileage verification, damage & accident history, theft check, taxi & rideshare check, financing check, manufacturer recalls, and colour, security-marking, and listing-photo records where available. No account is required — a receipt and your report are sent to the email address you provide at checkout.
4. Accuracy of reports
Reports are compiled from third-party data sources — currently Cebia and AutoRef — and are provided "as is." We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee that every report is complete or error-free, as records depend on the quality and availability of the underlying data sources. A report is not a substitute for a physical inspection by a qualified mechanic before you buy a vehicle.
5. Payments & refunds
Reports are purchased on a pay-per-report basis. Payment is processed by Stripe, which also acts as merchant of record for these transactions, including VAT/sales tax collection where applicable. If we are unable to find meaningful data for a submitted VIN, you are entitled to a full refund — contact support@vinsift.com to request one.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to violate any law, infringe on another person's rights, or attempt to access records for vehicles you do not have a legitimate interest in checking. We apply automated rate limits to prevent abuse of the Service, and may block requests that exceed reasonable use.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, [company legal name] is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, a report or the Service.
8. Changes to the service or terms
We may update these terms or modify the Service at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
